Theatrical Project - Victorian 3 story hat with bird trimming
This hat was made whilst studying with the amazing theatrical milliner Jane Smith, always an inspiration and a hatting heroine!
It is based on the 3 Story or Flower Pot hats that became fashionable during the late Victorian period of the 1880s.
The crown was made in buckram and then had the strip straw applied by hand, the brim was machined using the push/pull technique, the black bird was created in buckram and then covered in feathers which where stitched on by hand.
